Fun Contest for Moms

May 8, 2008

Well, not just for moms, but the whole idea behind this contest is “Mom’s Craziest Morning”!  That’s right moms you get to write an essay to share telling the world about your craziest morning.  I know you all have at least one to share and you probably don’t even have to dig all that deep to find it either LOL.

Of course there’s more to this contest than just the opportunity to tell the world about a crazy morning (though I have to admit there’s something rather satisfying about that alone), they are offering some fun prizes too of course!  Four lucky winners (one from each region of the country) will be awarded 4 tickets to go see the Jonas Brothers!  I’ll admit it here and now, my 9 year old loves this group and would “absolutely die” to go see them LOL.

Oh and of course the mom who entered the crazy morning story gets a little something too … can’t leave you out now can they???  Nope you also get a $150.00 gift certificate to Spa Finder.  So run … don’t walk … to the site and submit your essay.

I’m still waiting for mine to be reviewed, but I’m told that I’ll have a link to give all of you so that you can read about my crazy morning :)  I look forward to reading all of yours!!!

Planning a Grand Opening

May 5, 2008

As you all know we are still brand new here and haven’t even had a kick-off or grand opening event yet.  We plan to resolve this next month!  I don’t have a date set yet, but I already have a growing list of subscribers who will be thrilled when they find out that we are planning on holding a fun and big event to kick-off Froggy Reviews in June!

So, in the meantime I’m Calling All Business owners who want their business to get noticed!  This is the time to contact me and tell me about your shop and products - if you want a review, be sure to mention if you want to offer a giveaway or discount (or both).

Parenting Zoo

May 3, 2008

Parenting Zoo

Ever feel like you live in a zoo?  Wish your kids came with a manual?  Need a Tool Box for parenting?  Well, you’re in luck!  I just stumbled on a fun new site for parents called the Parenting Zoo!

I am what many call a seasoned or veteran mom - in other words I’ve been doing this whole mothering thing for a while now and with as many boys as I have, people assume I have it all figured out.  I will tell you here and now that is not the case!  In fact I strongly believe, and mention often, that the more children you have, the more you realize how little you know and how wonderful it is to find great resources.

I was thrilled with the activities and ideas offered at The Parenting Zoo! I am always needing great activities, coloring pages, and even resources for me, so I love what they have to offer - a Parenting Toolbox.  This site is particularly for parents of Preschoolers and Toddlers.  When you sign up for the Parenting Zoo Toolbox you get tons of educational resources and activities to do with your child to teach them their abc’s, and an entire parenting library including resources on parenting, potty training, helping your children sleep, meal planning and much much more.

Here’s the fantastic part … The Parenting Zoo Toolbox only costs $10 for all of that and you get plenty of extras!  As you can tell, I’m very excited about this resource because I know you will be too!  Feeling desperate for good activities to do with your children and overwhelmed when they are bored is NOT where I like to see any mom get to!  So I encourage you to hop on over and give it a try - I know you’ll be glad you did!

Going Green?

May 1, 2008

I’ve been talking a lot lately about going green! A while back I posted about a book that I recently had the opportunity to review at A Frog In My Soup one of the main ideas throughout the book is what a huge difference even one small change can make.

The most amazing thing that has come out of reading Gorgeously Green (by Sophie Uliano) is the fact that every decision I make while shopping is checked carefully.  If they offer an organic version of the product I’m more likely to pick that up now.  Especially fruit!

The last time I was at the grocery store I picked up a bag of organic apples because they happened to be near me at the moment and I was still in the middle of reading the book, so I figured “why not?”.   We love apples around here and our biggest favorite is Braeburn apples.  The next day I cut one up to share with my little ones and I honestly was surprised by how much more flavor there was.

Maybe it was a fluke … maybe not!  I have heard that much of the organic produce purchased probably won’t taste that much different.  Some of it will have a little more flavor and some taste a little fresher, so my experience was a bit of a surprise to me!

The trend toward making “greener” choices in life is becoming overwhelmingly popular.  I thought it was just me, but it obviously isn’t.  Between the issues with the hormones being found in plastics and lead in our children’s toys and pesticides in our food consumers are making overwhelmingly positive changes in their choices when they purchase.

Are you going green?  What change(s) have you made recently?

Note: Feel free to visit this post to read all about the book mentioned in the first paragraph of this post for information on how to purchase it.
